TPI Golf Movement Screen: Can you MOVE! for Golf?

Many common golf swing characteristics can be traced back to the body’s inability to move correctly.

Do you …

  • Want to swing and strike the golf ball more consistently?
  • Would you like to hit the golf ball further?
  • Be able to play pain-free?

Yes? … Then read on …

Titelst Golf BallYour golf swing is a complex, co-ordinated series of movements. But your body may be stoppping your swing becoming as consistent, efficient and powerful as it can be. It may even cause injury through an inefficent golf swing.

However the most efficient swing is not the same for every golfer – as efficiency is unique to their body. To achieve an efficient swing, a golfer must first be screened.

The results of the screen are then used to create a unique plan for that golfer – and may include physical therapy and treatment, fitness training, coaching of swing mechanics and biomechanics, nutrition, mental strategy or even all of the above!

Background: The TPI Philosophy & The Body-Swing Connection

So simple and yet so obvious – a methodology for increasing golf performance by improving mobility, stability, strength & power – to give the golfer a much better chance of swinging more efficiently and with reduced risk of injury.

Since 2003, the Titleist Performance Institute (TPI) has studied thousands of golfers, from top tour professionals to weekend hackers. From this huge database, TPI discovered how a properly functioning body allows a golfer to swing a golf club in the most efficient way possible for them – TPI also analysed how physical limitations can adversely effect the golf swing and potentially lead to injury.

What happens during my Specialist Movement Screen for Golfers appointment?

During the Specialist Movement Screen for Golfers consultation a comprehensive case history of past and present health is taken. This includes any old injuries or other problems and noting any medication you may be taking currently or have taken for periods in the past. This is followed by a series of simple, but highly focused, physical movements which are closely examined and the results recorded.

Comfortable clothing is required, but there is usually no need to remove any clothing during this screen. However, if something of concern does arise during the screen – a further full standard Osteopathy examination may be advised.

We will discuss the screening results with you, relating them to how any findings can influence your golf swing – or may predispose you to painful physical symptoms during or after your round of golf.

A full written report will subsequently be made available to you – ideal for sharing with your local golf Professional. We can also then plan a personal treatment plan with you to address any physical limitations uncovered by the screen.
